For residents looking for Siesta Key summer things to do, that daily cadence is more useful than a conventional attractions list. The best plan often starts with deciding when you want to be out, then choosing the part of the Key that fits.

The newest food choices fit the way people already use the island

The latest additions are spread between Siesta Key Village and the south end. They do not all serve the same purpose, which is precisely why they matter. One makes a Crescent Beach morning easier. Another adds a new coffee-and-pastry stop to Ocean Boulevard. A third changes the lunch and dinner mix in the Village.

Bungalow Bagels fills a south-end morning gap

Bungalow Bagels is the freshest significant Siesta Key opening in the current mix. The long-awaited shop opened in spring 2026 at 6583 Midnight Pass Road, near Crescent Beach.

The approximately 750-square-foot counter spot makes New York-style bagels in-house and pairs them with house-made schmears, signature sandwiches and Kona coffee. Cold brew can be sealed in a can for customers taking breakfast to the beach.

That grab-and-go format is the more meaningful part of the opening. Bungalow Bagels is not designed around a long meal. It gives the south end a practical breakfast stop that fits a beach morning, boat day or quick trip along Midnight Pass Road.

The opening also took time. Sarasota Magazine first previewed the concept in July 2025, while current restaurant coverage places the opening in spring 2026. Calling it long-awaited is fair. Pinning it to one exact opening day is less useful.

Published closing times have varied, so check the shop directly before making a special trip late in the day.

Parlor Doughnuts gave the Village another early start

In Siesta Key Village, Parlor Doughnuts opened in May 2025 at 5055 Ocean Boulevard. The shop occupies the former Project Coffee space in Siesta Center.

Parlor’s specialty is a layered pastry-style doughnut rather than a standard cake or yeast version. The Siesta Key location also introduced a coconut-rum doughnut with vanilla glaze created for the island shop. Coffee rounds out the morning format.

Casa Masa changed the Village lunch and dinner mix

Casa Masa joined the Siesta Key food scene in 2025 at 5214 Ocean Boulevard, the former address of Bonjour French Café.

The concept centers on Oaxacan-inspired flavors, handmade blue-corn tortillas, Oaxacan cheese, tacos and margaritas. Its official site lists daily service from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The address change tells a larger story than a simple restaurant opening. A daytime French café gave way to a scratch-driven Mexican concept serving through the evening. Blasé is using summer for something seasonal

Blasé Martini Bar at 5263 Ocean Boulevard is not a new arrival, but its current menu gives the Village a time-specific summer stop.

According to SRQ Magazine’s July 2026 dining calendar, Blasé is running a Summer Pizza and Martini Menu from June 1 through August 31. It includes hand-tossed specialty pizzas and a rotating monthly martini. July’s selection is the Siesta Suns orange-vodka martini.

That makes the market well suited to a slow Village morning. It can serve as a breakfast stop, a browse for something made locally or the first part of a walk along Ocean Boulevard. It should not be presented as a large conventional farm market because its identity is broader and more compact.

The newer food addresses deepen that morning circuit. Parlor Doughnuts is also in Siesta Center, while Casa Masa begins service later in the day. The Village now offers a clearer progression from early coffee and pastries to the market and then lunch.

Leave the middle of the day unprogrammed

A local Sunday does not need an activity assigned to every hour. The space between the market and sunset is part of what makes the rhythm work.

Residents can choose the beach, return home or shift to another part of the island without losing the thread of the day. The evening gathering remains predictable because the Drum Circle follows the sunset rather than a fixed clock time.
